This standard addresses the waterproofing system requirements for LU Civil Engineering Structures assets, and in particular to:

a) Overline bridges

b) Girderings

c) Covered Ways

d) Underline Bridges

e) Bridge Abutments

f) Footbridges

g) Sub-surface structures

h) Deep Tube Tunnels and Shafts.

i) Platforms.

This standard does not address waterproofing of buildings above ground, damp proof courses or damp-proof membranes to ground slabs, where Building Regulations apply.

This Standard applies to any party undertaking works to provide new, alter existing, undertaking maintenance or otherwise impact Civil Engineering assets owned and/or operated by LU.

Purpose

The purpose of this standard is to define the waterproofing system requirements for Civil Engineering structures owned by, or being constructed for, London Underground (LU).
