This guidance applies to all stakeholders involved in the specification, design, maintenance, installation and commissioning of AFILS on TfL premises.

This document should be referenced during all design and installation phases as well as ongoing maintenance of AFILS.

Purpose

The purpose of this guidance is to establish a common procedure for the design, installation and maintenance of Audio Frequency Induction Loop Systems (AFILS) that are provided on Transport for London (TfL) premises. Adopting this guidance will benefit customers that have hearing deficiencies and wear hearing aids by significantly reducing the communications barriers while travelling around TfL's network.
