This specification is applicable to inspection and preventative maintenance activities necessary to detect and correct any faults or degradation in performance. It is specifically applicable to mechanical lever frames, including ground and shunt frames, forming part of Railtrack's infrastructure.

Where disturbance of the mechanical locking or lever frame components is to take place the requirements of the appropriate Railway Group Standard for testing shall apply.
