This standard covers all new operational concentrator systems in Network Rail used for the purposes of signaller voice communications.
Note 1 : Repurposed Signal Box Concentrators (TDM) are not covered by this standard as they are not deemed new systems.
Note 2 : This standard does not cover operational concentrators used in Electrical Control Rooms.
Purpose
This document defines the minimum requirements for an Operational Concentrator System (OCS) using IP technology. These systems are used in Network Rail to facilitate spoken Safety Critical Communication and mitigate the risk of communications being directed to an incorrect person.
