Purpose:
In accordance with the authority in DoD Directive (DoDD) 5144.02, and pursuant to Subchapter II of Chapter 35 of Title 44, United States Code (U.S.C.), also known and referred to in this issuance as the "Federal Information Security Modernization Act of 2014" (FISMA); Section 2224 of Title 10, U.S.C.; and Parts 117 and 236 of Title 32, Code of Federal Regulations, this issuance establishes policy, assigns responsibilities, and provides procedures for DoD cyber incident response (CIR).
