Introduction
Some rail vehicles have poor train shunting properties. This instruction describes the setting up of certain d.c. track circuits to give the best performance for dealing with this problem. Use the method only when the drawings require it or when your Supervisor instructs you to do so.
Proper arrangements need to be made, in accordance with the Rule Book, before starting any testing, checking or setting up work that could affect the operational railway. The work should be done under the guidance of a Registered Tester.
Further details of d.c. high sensitivity track circuits may be found in the appropriate part of the Train Detection Handbook, classified as d.c. track circuits with Group B feed type.
