The primary user of this standard shall be the Asset Steward, and it shall apply to all Dot Matrix Indicators.

It is not normally intended to define methods of maintenance, but where the standard does so it is for particular reasons and the asset steward shall adhere to those methods.

Workshop overhaul is not covered by this standard. 

This standard supersedes E7010 A2 [E7010(BCV) A3], which is withdrawn.

This standard defines the minimum maintenance cleaning requirements dot matrix indicators currently used on London Underground.
