MODUK - DTD-5583A
Vulcanized Fluoro-Silicone Rubbers;
Organization: | MODUK |
Status: | active |
Page Count: | 7 |
scope:
The materials covered by this specification are intended for the production of items such as sheets, mouldings and certain extrusions, mainly for sealing applications in contact with petroleum-based fuels, hydraulic fluids and lubricants, and with silicone and certain ester-based fluids (but excluding certain phosphate esters) within the temperature range -60°C to +150°C. They are also suitable for use in contact with greases derived from mineral and synthetic fluids of the above types. They may also be used in air within the temperature range -60°C to +180°C for continuous operation and up to 200°C for intermittent periods. They have excellent ozone resist ance.
NOTE. At ordinary temperatures and in the absence of hostile environments, e.g. when properly stored, these rubbers deteriorate only very slowly. For most practical purposes the effect is insignificant and storage life may be considered indefinite. However, the rate o.f deterioration increases markedly with increased temperature and the sewice life of a rubber therefore deqends upon the operational temperature. Conversely, the maximum temperature at which a rubber may be used depends upon the useful life required.
