This Standard specifies the catheters and tubes for lower intestinal tracts (hereafter referred to as "catheters and tubes"), which are designed to be orally, nasogastrically, percutaneously or an ally inserted into lower intestinal tracts for the purpose of depressurization or evaporation of the contents in intestinal tracts from the body, expansion of stricture, or injection of contrast medium, etc.
Moreover, JIS T 3240 : 2005 may be applied until July 28th, 2014.
