The Standard specifies urinary stone and foreign object extractor and forceps (hereafter referred to as "catheters"), which are designed to temporarily insert into the body for the purpose of extraction of urinary stone and removal of residual calculus after lithotripsy by extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (hereafter referred to as "ESWL") etc., prevention of the calculus movement during lithotripsy and extraction of the foreign object out of urinary passage, etc.
Moreover, JIS T 3244 : 2005 may be applied until July 28th, 2014.
