This engineering standard Part 2 details the testing methods and associated performance requirements relating to cables to be adopted as directed by a definitive specification. (Nc)

It shall be used in conjunction with Part 1 (General requirements) of this E4156 document and an associated definitive specification, since by itself it does not detail requirements for a particular cable. This Part 2 is an integral part of these other documents and shall not be used in isolation. (Nc)

Definitive specifications shall refer to this standard and its contained test procedures. Definitive specifications shall define particular requirements and any departures from standard test methods or requirements. (Nc)

Its business objective is to ensure that testing methods for cables are consistent throughout LUL. (Nc)

This standard has been significantly changed from the previous version, E4156P2 A2, which it replaces. (Nc)
