Die vorliegende Internationale Norm enthält die Anfangsanforderungen, die Maßanforderungen am Anfang der Lebensdauer, die optischen und mechanischen Anforderungen sowie die umweltbezogenen Anforderungen an das Betriebsverhalten, die ein angeschlossener und zusammengesteckter Mehrmoden- Duplex-Steckverbindersatz vom Typ LC-PC mit elastischer Zentrierhülse (Steckverbinder/ Kupplung/Steckverbinder) erfüllen muss, um als Standardprodukt nach Internationaler Norm eingestuft zu werden.

Da unterschiedliche Bauarten zulässig sind, werden in 3.6 genaue Produktkennzeichnungen festgelegt.
