PURPOSE AND SCOPE
This method determines loss in strength and yellowing of woven or knitted fabrics due to chlorine retained in laundering operations involving the use of chlorine bleach and followed by pressing. It may be used on any fabric or finish that is not physically damaged by the 185° C heat treatment (Note 1).
This method may require the use of materials and/or equipment that could be hazardous. This document does not purport to address all the safety aspects associated with its use.
