AIM

The aim of this agreement is the definition of a common Open System Architecture interface that enables testing of Integrated Global Positioning and Inertial Navigation System (IGI) equipment in a controlled laboratory environment. The Standardisation agreement:

a. Defines an electrical interface to support modelled IMU data transmi, ssion between a GPS Satellite Signal Simulator (SSS) and an IGI equipment .

b. Defines a generic strapdown IMU error mode1 suitable for integrating into a GPS SSS to enable it to quantify platform body rates and accelerations, with errors typical of the IGI under test when initialised with the appropriate IMU parameters.

C. Defines a generic message set, to pass platform body rates and accelerations to the IGI that are synchronised with the RF satellite signals of a GPS SSS.

d. Defines a point of insertion (Le. Data Node) for the simulated body rates and accelerations into an integrated IGI.
