This Standard relates to a lacquer based on natural shellac for sealing, adhesive and coating purposes, particularly the internal surfaces of rolled paper cases for pyrotechnic compositions.

The designation 'Type QX' indicates that the material is of a quality suitable for application where a high degree of compatibility with explosives is a requirement.
