scope:

This specification describes the requirements for a LORAN-C Monitor which will continuously monitor LORAN-C signals and provide advisories on signal status to assure safe non-precision approach operations. This specification specifies the functional operation of the monitor, hardware, software and firmware of monitoring and control circuits, and interfaces with an Air Traffic Control location and the National Airspace System (NAS) remote maintenance and monitoring system. Also specified are requirements for modular design, electromagnetic compatibility, reliability, and maintainability. The LORAN-C monitor is shown in the block diagram in Appendix 1.
