Introduction

The beverage management system covers a wide spectrum of information from the planning of a bar menu to the training of bar service personnel and the overall ambience of the establishment. This pamphlet provides a systematic approach to the control and analysis required for successful bar management.

Figure 1-1 shows the organization of this pamphlet by chapters. By applying the principles and procedures contained herein, you will acquire the management tools and skills to make sound decisions that will assist you in having a successful bar operation. This pamphlet has sample written guidelines and references which can be used in building your skills in the areas of bar management. However, it is incumbent upon you to increase your knowledge of beverages and bar operations through independent research and study.
