The aim of this Agreement is to provide, for use by the NATO Forces, a system for rear area security and rear area damage control within a theatre of operations, by standardizing:
a. Definitions of the subjects.
b. The principles regarding the planning for and preparation and use of plans concerning the subjects.
c. To a limited extent, the format for rear area security and rear area damage control plans.
