This Specification defines the basic requirements for fabrication work on non-primary steel structures (see 1.2 (k) below for definition) of offshore installations. This will normally include, but not be limited to, the items listed in Table 1 (Sec. 8).
It should be noted that the attachment by welding of non-primary to primary steelwork comes within the scope of EEMUA Pub 158.
This Specification may also be used for modifications to existing structures, subject to the limitations imposed by the original materials and fabrication techniques.
