SD44 DATA MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR PARTICLE ENGULFMENT AND PUSHING BY SOLIDIFYING INTERFACES
|Publication Date:||10 March 2004|
This plan describes the philosophy, system characteristics, and procedures for implementing the Data Management (DM) function for the Particle Engulfment and Pushing by Solidifying Interfaces (PEP) Project. The definition of data is any, and all, information required to substantiate the management and technical performance, cost performance, and schedule performance of the PEP project elements required to deliver science hardware and required ground training hardware as well as ground support equipment (GSE). Through the use of DM, the PEP Project Team will ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance of all data. DM also includes the storage, retrieval, tracking, distribution, and administration of data, and is administered through the use of policies, procedures, specifications, and standards. PEP DM functions are as follows:
• Coordinate definition of data requirements and analysis • Maintenance of data requirements • Coordinate change control of data requirements • Data controls and transmittals • Data schedules and reports • Data storage and retrieval • Develop catalog library and tracking database
This PEP Data Management Plan (DMP) defines the required processes that describe the PEP DM system that will be used as tracking and status controls for the handling of in-house and contractor data. The purpose of this DMP defines their policies, procedures, specifications, and standards governing the processes to be used by the PEP Data Manager, Project elements, and Center organizational elements in the implementation of the DM system. The detailed operations in this plan are in compliance with MSFC Work Instruction (MWI 7120.5) and Data Management Plans, Programs/Projects (MPG 7120.3).
