Diese Europäische Norm legt die Grenzabmaße, Formtoleranzen und Grenzabweichungen der Masse für Halbzeug fest, das zur Warmumformung durch Schmieden bestimmt ist, d. h. von Vorblöcken und Vorbrammen sowie von quadratischem oder rechteckigem Halbzeug aus
- Stählen für allgemeine Verwendung nach EN 10250-1 bis EN 10250-4;
- Stählen für Druckbehälter nach EN 10222-1 bis EN 10222-5.
Sie gilt nicht für Halbzeug zum Gesenkschmieden, das in EN 10243-1 genormt ist.
