This INTERIM Defence Standard specifies requieremtns for three grades of polyvinyl formal for use in contact with cast double base propellants. For some applicatins Grsades 2A and 2B may be found to be interchangeable.

The designation 'Type OX' indicates that the material is suitable for certain applicatons whwere a high degree of compatibility with explosives is a reuirement. However, compatibility with all explosives in all enviromennts has not been established, and Design Authorities shouk seek advice on particular application from the Head of Energitic Materials and Terminal Effects Department, Defence Research Agency, Fort Halstead, Sevenoaks, Kent, TN14. 7BP.
