This specification covers technical manual content requirements for preparation of aircraft engine intermediate and depot maintenance instructions in work package (WP) format for uninstalled reciprocating and gas turbine engines, including turboprop and turboshaft. This specification also covers requirements for an intermediate maintenance manual supplement for the installation, positioning, and identification of external tubing, cabling, clamping and attaching hardware and a Sequence Control Chart (SCC) that graphically depicts accomplishment of complete engine repair. When specified by the requiring activity, an Illustrated Parts Breakdown (IPB) shall be included.
The types of technical manuals covered by this specification are intermediate level, depot level, and combination intermediate and depot data as specified in the MIL-DTL-81927. Beneficial comments (recommendations, additions, deletions) and any pertinent data which may be of use in improving this document shall be addressed to Commander, Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Code 414100B120, Highway 547, Lakehurst, NJ 08733-5100 by using the Standardization Document Improvement Proposal (DD Form 1426) appearing at the end of this document or by letter.
