This Practice describes the requirements for the design, materials, fabrication, installation, examination, and testing of aboveground RTR piping systems. This Practice applies to both process and utility RTR piping in accordance with ASME B31.3.

Comment: RTR piping is also known by other terms such as Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP), Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP), and Reinforced Thermosetting Resin Piping (RTRP).

This practice does not apply to RTR piping for underground systems, systems with mechanical joints, or fire water piping.

Purpose

This Practice provides requirements for aboveground Reinforced Thermosetting Resin (RTR) piping systems.
