This procedure covers the method for evaluating the suitability of a Superpave™ gyratory compactor (SGC) with respect to its ability to produce compacted specimens at various compaction levels according to T 312, which are equivalent to two models of gyratory compactors which have been in use by most of the State DOTs for the last four years and are known to have met the specification.
