scope:
This instruction covers the NAVAIR METCAL Program, which encompasses all areas of Naval and Marine Corps aviation units where Support Equipment (SE)/Test and Monitoring Systems (TAMS), including reference Calibration Standard (CALSTDS), are used for research, development, design, construction, inspection, test, acceptance, maintenance, production, or operation of prime systems and equipment. Its provisions are applicable to all Naval and Marine Corps aviation activities and to those activities or agencies requiring services from or providing services to the NAVAIR METCAL Program.
Purpose. To publish policies set forth in references (a), (b), and (c). To establish policy and assign responsibilities for the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Metrology and Calibration (METCAL) Program, including oversight and management responsibilities of the METCAL Product Support Team (PST) P32110, a competent body of the Naval Aviation Systems TEAM (TEAM) Competency Aligned Organization (CAO).
