Purpose.

To establish policy and responsibilities for specification compliance and testing to Military Standard 704 (MIL-STD-704) aircraft electric power characteristics interface standard. The overall intent of compliance testing is to ensure compatibility between aircraft power and aircraft electrical utilization equipment in accordance with the applicable version of MIL-STD-704.

This instruction is intended to provide supplemental and specific direction regarding incorporation of electrical power interface standards, reference (a), and electrical power interface compliance testing requirements, reference (b), into Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) developed specifications.
