PURPOSE. This order rescinds previous guidance and directs all Aircraft Certification Offices/ Engine Certification Office (ACO/ECO) and Aircraft Evaluation Groups (AEG) that applicants must submit Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for all design approvals for which application was made after January 28, 1981.
