scope:
This specification covers the detail requirements for hermetically sealed, red alpha-numeric light emitting diode displays, with CMOS IC. Two levels of product assurance are provided as specified in MIL-D-87157.
The device type shall be as follows:
Device type Function 01 Four character, alphanumeric display in a hermetic 18-lead package, 17-segment monolithic LED; on board CMOS IC serves as ASCII data latch and decoder and LED driver. Device has dimming features.
The device quality level shall be levels A and B as defined in MIL-D-871B7.
Luminous intensity code shall be as follows:

Test conditions shall be as specified in group A, subgroup 7.
