MODUK - DEF STAN 93-61

Method for Specifying Polycarbonate (PC) Moulding and Extrusion Materials

inactive, Most Current
Organization: MODUK
Publication Date: 1 January 1990
Status: inactive
Page Count: 13
scope:

This Defence Standard describes the method for specifying the requirements for polycarbonate (PC) moulding and extrusion materials for Ministry of Defence use. It is applicable to polycarbonate materials ready for normal use, both unmodified and modified by, for example, colourants, additives, fillers and reinforcing materials.

The designation system described in this Standard is based upon the designation procedures of ISO 7391/1, which differentiates polycarbonate plastics on the basis of viscosity number, melt flow rate, impact strength and information about intended application, method of processing, additives, colour, fillers and reinforcing materials. In this Standard, the procedures described in ISO 7391/1 have been extended for Ministry of Defence use by the inclusion of additional requirements for burning characteristics.
