The requirements of this chapter are applicable to the design of undercarriage units for military combat aeroplanes and trainers. Their application to other types shall be discussed with the Aeroplane Project Director.

It is generally assumed in framing the requirements that each unit has one wheel but the requirements apply equally to units having two or more wheels per unit except as stated in Chapter 301 para 4.
