scope:
This specification covers two types of trailer mounted liquefied petroleum gas (lpg) and kerosene fueled, bitumen heating kettles. The kettles shall be used for heating, transporting, and pressure discharging bitumen materials used in paving and roofing applications.
The kettles shall be of the following types, styles, and sizes as specified (see 6.2).
Type I Bottom fired (road kettle).
Type II Tube fired (roofing kettle).
Style A Lpg as burner and engine fuel.
Style B Kerosene (light oil) as burner fuel and gasoline as engine fuel.
Style C Lpg as burner fuel and gasoline as engine fuel.
Size 80 Melting tank capacity of 80 gallons (303 litre (L)).
Size 165 Melting tank capacity of 165 gallons (625 L).
Size 250 Melting tank capacity of 250 gallons (946 L).
Size 350 Melting tank capacity of 3 ) 50 gallons (1 3 25 L).
