This Part of the Defence Standard specifies the requirements for:

(a) coatings applied to specified areas of a vehicle or component to prevent personnel slipping on the surface;

(b)coatings applied to components, e.g. bridge decking, to reduce the risk of skidding of vehicles;

When the coatings are required to be NATO Green (BS 381C Colour No. 285) they shall also be IR reflective and comply with the requirements of Def Stan 00-23.

The conditions and requirements of Part 1 of this Standard must be read with and applied to this Part of the Defence Standard.
