This instruction applies to all organizational functions within NAVAIR Industrial Competency (AIR-6.0) managed aircraft or component depot-level maintenance facilities that develop and maintain router and/or work documents for the manufacture, modification, overhaul, re-manufacturing and/or maintenance of aircraft, components, and engines.

Purpose. To establish a standardized set of guidelines, that meet minimum acceptable criteria for the development and maintenance of all routers and/or work orders generated for organic Depot Level Maintenance (DLM) on aircraft, engines, components and manufacturing planning at Naval Air Depots Cherry Point North Carolina, North Island San Diego California, and Jacksonville Florida. The principle objectives are to

a. define and document the minimum acceptable level of detailed information for all routers/work orders developed per references (a), (b) and (c); and

b. promote consistent interpretation and application of router development techniques to ensure data accuracy for capacity planning and shop floor control.
