This INTERIM Defence Standard specifies requirements for polyester resin systems for use as binders for certain pyrotechnic compositions.
The designation 'Type OX' indicates that the material is suitable for certain applications where a high degree of compatibility with explosives is a requirement. However, compatibility with all explosives in all environments has not been established, and Design Authorities should seek advice on particular applications from the Head of Energetic Materials and Terminal Effects Department, Defence Research Agency, Fort Halstead, Sevenoaks, Kent, TN14 7BP.
