The equipments covered by this specification are air/ground amplitude-modulated transceivers, either VHF or UHF, as specified in the contract schedule. They will be capable of 5-microvolt sensitivity, 20- to 40-watt output and 90 percent modulation with 25-kHz VHF and 50-kHz UHF channel spacing. These equipments will be used for emergency communications at FAA facilities.

The equipments are to be used in air route traffic control centers for emergency communications.
