This specification relates to an eggshell, emulsion paint for application to exterior surfaces. Paint to this specification is available in a limited range of colours selected from BS 4800. The paint may be thinned with up to 20% water as recommended by the manufacturer.

The paint system will normally consist of one sealing coat followed by two finishing coats. The sealing coat is prepared by thinning the paint as supplied with up to half its volume of water.

Wooden surfaces, after priming with low lead solvent thinned priming paint A for woodwork complying with BS 5358 will normally receive two finishing coats.

The painting system is expected to have a life of at least four years under conditions of normal use.
