INTRODUCTION
An amended version of ISO 2553:1992 (Welded, brazed and soldered joints - Symbolic representation on drawings) has been adopted for representing welding on Engineering Drawings. The amendments are detailed under 3. REQUIREMENTS below.
ISO 4063:1998 (Welding, brazing, soldering and braze welding of metals - Nomenclature of processes and reference numbers for symbolic representation on drawings) has been adopted for representing the process on Engineering Drawings in conjunction with ISO 2553:1992.
Other Standards referenced in ISO 2553:1992 and ISO 4063:1998 have not been adopted by FAO unless specifically referenced in the Ford Motor Company Engineering CAD & Drafting Standards.
On a complex joint involving multiple welds it may be simpler to show a separate detailed view of the joint and welds required.
The fork and process number, shown in Figure D-3.1, need only be added to the reference line if a specific process is required.
