Purpose

This publication provides ammunition and explosives (AE) hazard classification procedures for transportation and storage by the Department of Defense (DoD) Components (DoDC) and the Department of Energy (DOE). It sets forth procedures for assessing the potential reaction of AE to specified phenomenon. Based on AE reactions, procedures are provided to assign the Class and Hazard Division (HD) for AE transportation and storage.
