Introduction to Electrical Guidance Document
This document is intended to support the LU category 1 electrical standards, 1-066 Lighting of London Underground Assets and 1-069 Low Voltage Electrical Installations.
Part 1 of this document supports 1-066 and part 2 supports1-069.
The electrical guidance document provides more detail around the intent of clauses that can be found in the category 1 standard as well as providing guidance on how to apply the standards and what considerations need to be taken into account when designing or installing systems.
Included in this document is also good practise that London Underground has built up which it is hoped will help to avoid repeating mistakes or relearning lessons as well as assist with facilitating operational and maintenance needs and tasks and potentially reduce the cost of project or remedial works.
If you have any feedback on this document, this should be addressed in the first instance to the Principal Electrical and Mechanical Engineer.
If you have any questions relating to 1-066 or 1-069 or the guidance document then please do not hesitate to ask the Principal Electrical and Mechanical engineer for clarification - you could save a lot of effort, money and time!
