This guideline provides processors of semi-finished products made of thermoplastic materials with instructions on how to determine characteristic values as the basis for the calculations involved in designing tanks, apparatus, ventilation and industrial pipelines. It is essential that the regulations described in Section 7 are taken into account when selecting and processing the materials to be used. The information applies to predominantly static loads. The respective DVS guidelines and -leaflets as well as the relevant DIN, EN and ISO standards apply to the calculation, dimensions, design and testing of the various constructions. Responsibilities with regard to specific fields of law (for example building law, water law, trade law, etc.) must be taken into account.
