scope:
This Standard specifies an atomic absorption spectrometric method by flame atomization after decomposition with acids, used for the determination of the aluminium content in iron and steel. The method is applicable to aluminium contents (mass fraction) in iron and steel of 0.005 % or over up to and including 0.10 %.
NOTE: The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows.
ISO 9658: 1990 Steel-Determination of aluminium content-Flame atomic absorption spectrometric method (MOD)
In addition, symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/ lEC Guide 21-1.
