Applicability. This pamphlet applies to the Active Army, the Army National Guard/Army National Guard of the United States, and the U.S. Army Reserve, unless otherwise stated. It also applies to all personnel who participate in the disposition of remains and personal effects process at unit, installation, and casualty assistance command levels. During mobilization, procedures contained in this pamphl et may be modified by the proponent.

Purpose

The purpose of this pamphlet is to provide practical guidance and procedures for unit commanders, Casualty Assistance Centers (CACs), Casualty Assistance Officers (CAOs), and Summary Courts-Martial Officers (SCMOs) charged with the care and disposition of remains and/or disposition of personal effects (PE).
