scope:
a. The scope of the ALRE Program consists of life cycle acquisition management and support for all Navy and Marine Corps systems and equipment utilized for launch and recovery of fixed and rotary wing aircraft, including all components, spares, repair parts, support equipment, and supporting technical documentation. This includes responsibility for the definition, research and development, test and evaluation, acquisition, certification, modernization, and disposal of ALRE systems.
b. Funds listed in the Future Years Defense Program and assigned to the PM for obligation in the execution of program objectives include the following:
(1) Operations and Maintenance, Navy
(2) Other Procurement, Navy
(3) Research, Development, Test and Evaluation, Navy (Program Elements 0603512N, and 604512N)
(4) Shipbuilding and Conversion, Navy.
c. Programs under responsibility of the PM are typically acquisition categories (ACATs) II, III, and IVM/T.
d. The PM billet (military officer (06) or civilian (GS15)) is equivalent to a major command.
