This specification covers the properties of a paintable, reaction injection molded polyurethane integral skin foam. This material is UV stabilized. Testing must be performed on the UV stabilized unpainted material. Weather resistance testing must be conducted on four colors: a dark grey or black, a light tan or beige, a red, and a blue.
Material Description. This material must be painted for production parts. The approved paint specifications are one of the following: GMN11014, 9984875 and 9984876. Approved paint systems that can be used on this material must be listed in the GM Approved Paint on Part Systems (GM APOPS) database.
Typical Application. Typical applications include the following: steering wheels, horn pads, and airbag covers.
