The terms and procedures defined in this standard are applicable to factory planning in general. The standard is intended for planners inside or outside the company or for purchasers in factory planning projects. It supports a methodical approach to planning and an objective-oriented selection of planning services.
Depending on the planning case (construction, expansion, restructuring, or dismantling), different extents of EWR are used. While the selection of the preferred planning variant is at the ultimate focus of the planning process, evaluation of planning variants is a key concomitant task, and its volume increases as the planning progresses.
