This test method describes a procedure for determining heat-set area and number of macro stickies in a specified amount of pulp screened. The method applies to a wide range of pulps, typically, recycled pulp.
This test method is consistent with the standard practice described in ASTM D 6148, but it details a specific procedure in which the measurement is based on the thermoplastic properties of stickies.
The method does not quantify content of micro stickies.
