This standard lays out procedures and safety precautions to be considered when working in the vicinity of gas plant, whether that work be in public highways, private land or easements.

These recommendations outline management procedures and safety precautions affecting the design, construction, maintenance and demolition of services, structure and other works in the vicinity of gas plant. Specifically it covers:

• Legislation such as the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act and Pipelines Safety regulations.

• Working in the vicinity of gas plant, whether in easements, private land or in public highways, including duties prior to work commencing, activities such as demolition and pipe splitting and actions to be taken in case of damage to pipelines.
