This Standard specifies a method for determining the resistance of an individuallayer or multi-layer system of coating materials to the effects of water by partial or full immersion.

This method enables the determination of the effects of water on the coating and, if necessary, the assessment of the damage to the substrate.

NOTE: The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows.

ISO 2812-2: 2007 Paints and varnishes-Determination of resistance to liquids-Part 2: Water immersion method (MOD)

In addition, symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/lEC Guide 21-1.
