scope:

This Standard applies to newly produced gas-fired packaged steam and hot water boilers with

a) maximum gas inlet pressure ratings greater than 1/2 psig (3.45 kPa) and input ratings from 400,000 to 50,000,000 Btuh (117 228 to 14 653 556 W); and

b) maximum gas inlet pressure ratings equal to or less than 1/2 psig (3.45 kPa) and input ratings from 12,500,000 to 50,000,000 Btuh (3 663 389 to 14 653 556 W).

The requirements in Part (A) of this Standard apply to package boilers, fire and water tube, steam and hot water, having manufacturer's maximum input ratings in excess of 400,000 Btuh and up to and including 10,000,000 Btuh.

Part (B) of the Standard includes requirements additional to those of Part (A) and apply to package boilers, fire and water tube, steam and hot water, having manufacturer's maximum input ratings in excess of 10,000,000 Btuh and up t o and including 50,000,000 Btuh.

These requirements apply to a package boiler provided with automatic control devices and designed for automatic, semi-automatic or manual operation.

A boiler which complies with these requirements shall not be acceptable if it has features which impair the results contemplated by the requirement.

These requirements do not cover the pressure vessels aspects of the package boiler. Each province requires registration of such under its respective Act.
